A Little Late

So, I know I missed July…Sorry bout that 😦 It was a good reason though, I promise!!!! I was very much busy with moving. Yes, we moved. We needed more room 🙂 Anyway… You don’t want to hear about my boring life soooo….

First up this time is knitting. I, unfortunately, don’t have any finished projects. O.o Its been a very busy month with the move. I’m sorry. I had a fail 😦 BUT! I DID make progress! I finished my first ever fingerless glove! I am very proud of myself 😉 Lol!

Ok….I just realized I don’t have a pic with it with the thumb done….O.o The thumb IS done though! So yeah =D These are the Soaring Heart Mitts by Nicola Blechschmidt. I am using Caron Simply Soft in Ocean on size 3 and 7 needles. I am working on the second one currently so I hope to be able to finish it soon. The only other thing I have been working on is Hexipuffs for the Beekeepers Quilt by Tiny Owl Knits. I am not going to list all the yarns I am using for it as….it seems to keep growing 😉 Nothing wrong with that though! Perhaps I will SHOW you sometime as I am working on getting everything I need to turn this into a video log. Its just going to be a lot easier for me…a lot less time consuming 🙂 Anyway. Thats it for knitting.

For books, I did finish Fifty Shades of Grey by E. L. James. It had such a cliffhanger! I hated that! -_- Oh well. Everyone has them 😉 I will more than likely get the other books because I really want to know what happens. I had also read Passion by Lauren Kate which is the 3rd book to the Fallen series. It wasn’t my favorite but, I still liked it. There is only 1 book left and I can’t wait to get to read it! And, that is all for books.

That’s really all I have for right now period O.o I guess until next time!

Happy reading and knitting!

official!

I know I just posted and most of this is going to be repeated but, there was some stuff I feel I should have put in that I didn’t so, I am posting again in the way I am planning to do this from here on out.

First, a bit of a book review….. Right now, I am reading “Fifty Shades of Grey” by E. L. James. This book has been advertised EVERYWHERE and though, I don’t read a lot of romance, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I am just about finished with it and it has taken me forever to get to this point. I am really into and liking the story parts of it but, all the…..ummmmm…….”romantic” parts to it are just kind of, well, not for me. And there is A LOT of those parts which is why its been hard getting through it for me. If you love Romance books, then this is a book you would love. I however can’t wait to be done 😦 I haven’t decided if I will get the other 2 books to this trilogy or not. I am thinking I will simply because A) I like finishing what I start, and B) it sounds like he is going to end up realizing his way now might not be his way in the future…..I don’t know though. Obviously, this is just my opinion on the book. If you like Romance, then I think you would like this book. If your like me and can only handle so much romance, then you may not be to into it but, you will have to make that decision 😉

Now, back to knitting. I have updated info for this including the designer names that I didn’t know at the time of my last post plus, I am adding the yarn I am using with each project as well as needle sizes. So, here goes 😉

First up is the “Car Blanket/Pillow” by Lion Brand which I am making for my hubby. I am using Lion Brand Super Bulky yarn in 4 different colors. Oakland Black, Oklahoma City Green, San Diego Navy, and Tampa Spice (which is a red). I am using size 11 needles.

Next is the “Soaring Heart Mitts” by Nicola Blechschmidt. For these, I am using Carron Simply Soft yarn which is a worsted weight. The color is called Ocean and I am using a size 3 and 7 needles.

Next is the “Beekeeper’s Quilt” by Tiny Owl Knits and for this, I am just using whatever sock weight yarn I can get my hands on 🙂 So far I have 3 different colors of Jamieson Shetland Spindrift; Dusk, Moss, and Oxford, 3 different Berroco colors; Red, Orange, and Purple, and 1 Eucool in the color Plum. I am currently using size 3 needles as it is what I had on hand. I had tried using my size 4 circular needles for one hexipuff and I didn’t like it. It was a bit of a pain and when I finished it, there was no real size difference between that one and the ones I had done on my 3s so I am just going to continue to use my size 3 double points.

Next is the “Jackson Square Afghan” by Red Heart. I am using 8 different colors of Red Heart Worsted Weight yarn even though the pattern only calls for 4 colors. I am using this as a stash buster of my red heart yarn as I am not a big fan of it. To rough for my liking. The colors I am using is Burgundy, Royal, White, Green, Multis; Browns, Multis; Browns and Blues, Bonbon, and Buff Fleck. This is crocheted on a size J hook. This is the one I have kind of dropped the ball on as I don’t like crocheting as much.

Last but, not least is the “ScWiNoNa” by weezalana (which is her Ravelry name). This is the scarf I am making with my first ever REAL, NO accrilic at all, yarn! The yarn is from Hippie Penguin Fibers and is an Aran weight. The color is called Evergreen. I am using size 7 needles.

So, that’s all I have for now. I am going to post at least once a month and I am even thinking very heavily into just doing this as a video blog as, it would make things seem more interesting as well as easier. I know I would rather SEE what was being worked on rather than just hear or read about it. Makes things more…..well…..interesting 🙂 So, until next time!

Happy reading and knitting! ❤

Why!?

So! Even though I already have a blog on Blogger, I have decided to start another blog here. On Blogger, I started to just post mostly about whats happening in my life and well, no one outside my family and friends really want to hear about my boring life 😉 So, here I am! Making a blog that is strictly going to be for my crafty, book reading, nerdist ways!

So, to start off with will be my knitting updates. Though I haven’t really finished anything lately, I do have several projects on the needles. First is the ever popular “Beekeepers Quilt” by Tiny Owl Knits.

The picture is what have done so far. I LOVE this project and this is all I have been working on really for the last couple months. Which still hasn’t been much…. I had lost my knitting mojo there for a while but, its coming back. I have also started back to working on the “Blanket/Pillow” by Lion Brand that I am making for my hubby. Stockinette stitch is just sooooo boring. But, I want to get it done so I am going to push through. I had also started the “Jackson Square Afghan” by Red Heart but, I have kind of dropped the ball on that one…. For one thing, I am already working on a blanket, 2 technichly, and for another, its crochet and I really don’t like crocheting as much. Sooooo, yeah. The last thing I am working on is the “Soaring Hearts Mitts” by….well, unknown at the moment as their name is not on my downloaded pattern. Anyway, I have been wanting to make these for a long time and I finally got everything I needed to make them so, now I can’t wait to finish. I am getting ready to cast on (yes I know I have a lot already) for a scarf that I am going to knit with my first REAL yarn! None of it is accryllic (sp O.o)! Because of that, I couldn’t resist starting another project. I am in a knitting group that meets at a local coffee shop and one of the ladies there has been trying to get rid of yarn so she brought a trash bag (yes…a trash bag!) full of it! I was in high heaven and couldn’t believe she was getting rid of it. I was a total yarn hog and just brought home the rest of what no one else wanted. I still feel bad for it but, she was happy to get rid of it. Crazy 😉

This is what I came home with and my husband thought I was insane 🙂 I am still giddy and can’t wait to get started on my scarf! Which I am going to do right now as, I have no more to talk about at the moment…. So, until next time!
